A Nice Birthday Present

Yesterday was my birthday. It was also the day that the concrete got poured. 👏👏👏

I’m so in love with how it has turned out. They still need to seal the concrete and add the color,  but I think it’s looking great! Happy Birthday to me! 😁

Making Lemonade Out of Lemons

What started as our next door neighbors putting in an inground pool, ended as a giant mess for us. Since we are downhill from their house, every time it would rain, mud from their their dug up yard would pour into ours. The last time was the worst. Check out these videos I took during the storm.

The company that did their pool agreed to come in and fix all of the damage. We were able to take advantage of the situation since all of the labor would be free.  We are able to get all of the flagstone replaced with 700 sq ft of stamped concrete for a fraction of the cost.

They finally got started on it this week.

It rained a lot yesterday afternoon so we don’t have anyone working today. I’ll try to update as progress is made.

I just love big makeover projects like this!

New Door Color

It’s been 9 years since we painted our brick. It’s holding up beautifully. We haven’t had to touch up at all. So for all of those people who are afraid to paint your brick for fear you will need to repaint every few years, take heart. Just make sure you do all the prep and use good paint.

Anyway, I decided to repaint the front door, and add shutters. For now I will have to settle for just the door. It will probably be a while before Randy has time to build the shutters.

Window Boxes Complete

My husband is a rock star!!! How cute are these window boxes???

As you can see from the photo below, I ended up choosing chocolate brown for the front door.


Landscape lighting ordered today. Hopefully it will be installed by the end of next week.

The makeover is almost complete. :)
