Painting The Brick-Day 8
It doesn't seem like it's going very fast right now. However all of the windows and doors (with the exception of the front of the house) have been painted along with the brick. We ran out of primer today so Randy had to run out and get more supplies. It's really looking beautiful. I can't wait to get home tomorrow.

Painting The Brick-Day 2
Randy began priming the back side of the house today. Then he ran into a little snag. The 5 gallon bucket of primer that we purchased on Saturday was bad or something. It was lumpy and wouldn't cover or mix up. His goal was to finish priming that side of the house. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Now it's back to the paint store tomorrow morning at 7:00 in hopes that they have another 5 gallon bucket in stock.
Today the color went on the front of the house. I LOVE IT!!! I just can't decide if I want shutters or not. Take a look at the next two photos and give me your opinion. I need help!!!

Painting The Brick-Day 1
Ok...I'm well aware that many people are going to be upset by our decision to paint the brick on our home. Believe me, I've done my homework and I'm well aware that it's a VERY controversial subject. I've heard it all from "it makes a maintenance free home require maintenance"..."it cheapens the look of the home"..."it reduces the value of the home"...and my favorite, "what kind of IDIOT would paint brick?"
When we moved into this house 10 1/2 years ago, I loved almost everything about it. One of the exceptions was the dated, tri-colored brick. I always knew that some day I would paint it. However, it has not escaped my attention that it will cause quite a stir.
Personally, I LOVE the look of painted brick, and am quite excited about the primer going on the first side today. I can already visualize how great it's going to look. I can't wait!!!
So, if you would like an opportunity to let us know your thoughts on the subject, all I can say is...bring it on. I can take it! :)
